Story
Hi,
Trekking in the memory of Bryson Anderson & his Family My name is Donna Vinci and I am going to take on the gruelling Kokoda Trail to raise awareness and funds for Police Legacy in remembrance of all deceased Police Force Officers in NSW, APF and other states.
This cause is particularly close to my heart as we lost a dear family friend, Detective Inspector Bryson Anderson, about six years ago. Bryson was a husband, father of three, brother, uncle, son, friend, a policeman and volunteer fireman, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty as he was protecting the community from a violent offender. A tragic loss to the community and his family.
I’m raising funds to continue providing essential financial assistance and social programs and experience to the widows, widowers and dependent children of all the fallen officers. Our fundraising will also enable a group of legatees to participate in the trek as well as ensure that the Kokoda Trek program continues for future Police Legatees. This experience provides the young legetees lessons in resilience, helps them deal with the aftermath of loss, and how to set and achieve the impossible by putting one foot in front of the other to move forward in life.
I feel there is no better way to recognise the sacrifice, courage and pride of our Police Force and the other Emergency and Armed Services, than to walk in the footsteps of our soldiers who fought for our freedom and safety along the Kokoda Trail, PNG.

The Trustee For NSW Police Legacy
NSW Police Legacy is the NSW Police Force Charity. Established in 1987 it was initially founded to support the bereaved families following the loss of their loved one. Now, our support extends to include police officers and their families experiencing challenging times in their lives. Our police family has grown to include not only families suffering from loss and grief, but those experiencing misfortune that require extra support.
